Made of 100% black silk, this Diane von Furstenberg dress features piles of extra fabric along the skirt, which made it my go-to for all literary events and book parties when I wanted to feel like somebody Very Serious who was also prepared to twirl across a makeshift dance floor until the wee hours of the morning. DVF has remained a crucial pin in the Meatpacking fashion scene for decades and I hope this dress has many more lives on many more dance floors.
